Surgery Table
This Animal Surgery System simplifies set-up procedure and provides the examiner with an excellent overview of the operative site and sets a new standard in of procedural control.
The system allows researchers to operate independently, eliminating the requirement for an assistant and removes the distraction of improvised set-ups and thereby allowing the researcher to focus full attention on the surgical procedure with high repeatability.
The system allows researchers to operate independently, eliminating the requirement for an assistant and removes the distraction of improvised set-ups and thereby allowing the researcher to focus full attention on the surgical procedure with high repeatability.
The system consists of three components:
- Base Plate
- Fixators
- Retractors
The Base Plate
Are made of ferro-magnetic stainless steel and are available in two sizes. Both plates have a window in the center which allows the animal contact with body temperature control systems. The window sizes are 10 x 13cm for the small base plate and 15 x 25cm for the large.
The Fixators
Are movable posts that contain rare earth magnets that attach anywhere on the animal table. A push-button top operates multi-level locking jaws that grip wires or elastomers firmly. Complete depression of the push-button allows for insertion of the wires or elastomer while partial depression of the push-button allows for adjustment. Fixators can also lock onto other lab components that require stabilization in the surgical setting, such as neurological or rectal probes or anesthesia delivery systems. The magnets do not interfere with lab electronics and can be used in close proximity (3cm) to ferro-magnetic items.
- Eliminates the need for an assistant
- Reduces setup and procedure time
- Provides superior control
- Improves visualization
- All components are autoclavable
- All items can be purchased seperately
The Retractors
The retractors are interchangeable. Retractor Tips (No. 18200-08 through 18200-12) all which attach to either Retractor Wire (Nos. 18200-05 & 18200-06) for static retraction or to Elastomer (No. 18200-07) for dynamic retraction. The Retractor Tips are light and atraumatic to delicate tissue or membrane.
