Prolene

Ethicon PROLENE is a monofilament suture with very smooth surface and texture of synthetic fiber. These properties make PROLENE a very useful non-absorbable suture for smooth passage through tissue with minimal tissue reaction. PROLENE is biologically inert, and cause less inflammatory response in the tissue sutured than natural fibers, and do not degrade from the enzymes present in the body. The suture is eventually encapsulated by the healing tissue, and does not require removal by a physician.
