Ethicon MONOCRYL is a soft suture with a monofilament structure for smooth passage through tissue. It is synthetic and causes minimal tissue reaction. Thanks to the properties of MONOCRYL it can be used in a wide range of applications. MONOCRYL is also less affected by needle holders than other monofilament sutures, although precaution is always advisable.

MONOCRYL sutures are intended for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation where an absorbable material is indicated.
Typical areas of use include:
- Subcuticular sutures
- Small intestine anastomoses
- Urological anastomoses
